2010 Z1000: torque specs for the rear sprocket nuts:confused: (that hold the sprocket to the carrier) THX:)

NP.

Let me see what it says....
Nope, just says:
There has to be a reason:confused:,I can see the "BOLTS" but not the nuts:dontknow:
unless the nuts themselves have a "Locking Dimple" stamped on there side so as when you first use them they act as a lock, then when you remove them, that feature doesn't work as well.

It's a Stover type nut. I spec them quite a lot on the equipment I desgn. After making the nut, the nut is deformed on 3 of the 6 sides so it interferes with the screw. They truly are a one time use nut.
Stover, yes I'm familiar with that, but does it effect bolt Too(deform threads) so you have to replace bolt Too?...or can you just use new nuts from local hardware store...I hate to pay $2-$4 on a nut from Kawasaki:eek:
or better yet,use Blue loctite on old nuts:lol:

It doesn't remove any material from the stud but because the nut is deformed, it does roll (forge) the threads a little. Basically, with a regular nut, it would seem a little loose of a fit.

I honestly don't think there will be a problem with reusing the nut with a little blue loctite for just a sprocket carrier. The tensile strength of the nut will not have been exceeded meaning the nut nut will not have permanently deformed back to round. You'll be ok.

I was about to get al engineery for a sec then stopped myself. Been doing a bunch of spring calculations and material selection today.:screwy:

I get the same, way at times I have to catch myself. Sometimes it is better not to know too much and just move on. It is hard to do when you know better, but sometimes it is just a technical waste of time. I've reused these nuts many times in the past, I'm sure you'll be OK if you torque them to spec and use a little loctite.

THX,I thought so,I'll just Loctite those "Old Nuts"
