I was under the impression that the first gen zeds had those hinges on the tank so you didn't have the hassle of fully removing the tank. But that's just what I was told. Any clarification?

Depends what you need to do. There are two rubber pucks on the frame that the front of the tank slide into and they hold it in place along with the rear bolt. You can prop/hinge it up enough under the rear to get a short 2x4 under it to gain access to something...but if your going to go that far, only a few more steps and the tank comes right off.

Mine only had 5000 on them, but what we surmised was the guy would start it in his garage rev it a couple times for his buddies and shut it off,

He put new tires battery insurance, and reggy to go 69 miles in 2011 lol

My third plug was wet,,

We were able to get the plugs out without having to disassemble the radiator cap too,, it wasn't fun though,,

Yea he's been my buddy since I was 17 and we rode race quads together,,then bikes sleds boats now I want him back on a bike lol

He has the mechanic shop and I got the fabricator shop so we compliment each other,,,

Hi all,

My 04 gen 1 doesn't start since december.
About the tank, I was able to remove it on my own whilst full. Push connected pins and tug firmly. Putting back also needs firm pressure.

Now, The issue I have, I don't remember where or if the breather hose (I believe it's called) was attached. The long additional hose coming from the left side. Was this perhaps not connected anywhere and just pointed down?

Thanks in advance.
