The header pipe that connects to the slip on is slightly larger than the sc project pipe. Any idea if cutting a few slits in the header end and using a c clamp on it would work or would it be better to return it?

You can always take it to an exhaust shop and they can punch out the slip on end too. Should be cheap if you just bring in the pipe and show them. Depends on how much play we’re talking, and it probably won’t seal well without a weld if it’s more than 1/8 inch of play. Why cut it up and up having to get it welded and resized
