wow! didn't know it'd go that fast. Yes, save that for the track.

I've seen 140 (once) and could've seen maybe 10 more ...maybe I'm just too chicken to hold'er wide open!
That was the issue for me (even the Mechanic who test rode it), from 1st to 6th gear & the Speedo is at 70mph. Then it starts to scream but without the sprocket changes I could only get it to 132-138mph & it was very sketchy.

Around town geared just way too low, especially first & second.

The bike has lost some of its raw acceleration but it's so much easier to ride. The 187 may have only been 183mph - after all the Speedo goes way off once you change the sprockets.

155 on mine, with a slight incline....reckon I had another 5 or 10mph left....standard gearing... Love to know more about " riding it differently..."

I've always likened the zeds gear ratios to an r6 but with litre power behind it...

What did you mean "ride differently? I was simply hanging on for health.

PS. I had a slight downhill at the end but my bike stock wouldn't get past 140mph safely. Or maybe I was still new to it.

Like Koggs, I like the engine braking even with the sprocket changes - it performs more like a sport bike with the difference being you have to ride it harder & longer in each gear.

A lot less tiring...

Maybe you are right.

My mechanic said there is a device called a Speedohealer that does it automatically?

I will never, ever, go there again.

https://www.google.com/search?q=speedohealer+calculator&oq=speed+healer&aqs=chrome.2.69i57j0l3.7872j0j4&client=ms-android-verizon&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8
Hmm - well, to back up my comment my simple mind says if you made an extreme change to the sprockets (ie like a stunt bike or something like that....the top speed is going to be way less...ie the speed of the forward motion so the rear wheel speed sensor will just register that your going forward by a lot less....where you will see a change (i think) is if you were to change the profile of the tyre as thats going to increase or decrease the size of the wheel...as i say...thats the way my simple mind sees it...im sure someone will be along to correct me....

I am the simplest of them all Comfy - but I do understand what you mean by low gearing stunt riding - I just wanted to change gears less & have a much higher top speed but I rarely ride above 100mph because of Road Rules, etc.

I understand many good riders who are super knowledgeable about modifications do actually change their rear wheel size & they say it improves handling, etc especially the guys who ride on the track.

If I am ever foolish enough to repeat that stunt & get into a tank slapper I will watch the speedo & see if there is a change as each wheel leaves the ground for a millisecond ...

I found the above thread that said most Japanese Motorcycle speedometers are 5% off compared to GPS. But I dont know how to calculate speed changes with sprocket changes.

My mph figures could be wrong but others with lower gearing have hit 178.

As it is I just look at my bike with the key off & know what it can do ...

Wow, I never get tired of looking at these bikes :)

For Koggs a Full Frontal & Ass Shot before & after the Weight Loss Surgery & Breast Reduction.

Plus I tore off all the Gay Parade Day Glo Green.

Beautiful 3rd gen IRONZ. The carbon fiber and colors work well together. Rear Sets, brake levers and reservoirs, rad cover, exhaust, gas cap, oil plug! the list goes on and on!!

Are you finished or are there more mods to come?

Interesting thing going on with the intake cowl. Did the clip ons force you to mod that area?
