Well I was just outside smoking and I was just walking around the bike and it looks like there is oil on/coming out of one of my header pipes.. What could this be and how bad is it?

Could be a whole heap of things. Hard to tell without more info.

thats all i have right now.. just looks like there is oil on the outside left header pipe.. if it wasnt 2:20 in the morning i'd be out in the garage looking more

I would guess, if you look closer it is coming from either the sensor above that pipe next to the cam cover or the cam cover itself. I have a leaky cam cover on mine, and its on the left side. It leaks down the front of the engine and gets on the sensor I spoke of, the header pipe, and all the way down the front of the engine. I will bet you are having the same troubles. There are 6 rubber compression washers used as a clamping force on your cam cover, and its gasket. It is either one of those, or your cam cover gasket IMO. Take a closer look, and tell me what you find.

PS, the washers are $6-7/ea, and the cam cover gasket is about $36
