Fully adjustable suspension on BOTH forks for both compression and rebound, as well as better radial mounted brake calipers.

The first gen only has rebound dampening, and only in one fork leg - it was supposed to be stiff enough to compensate for both legs. If you want better handling, this is a great mod to do.

hi,the 2003 zx636 shock is a bolt on,but the 2005 is not,the 636 forks also are the same width as z100 forks, they will fit the std triples. The 2005 forks are the ones to buy as the 2003 forks used to snap at the bottom, the 2005 calipers go straight onto the z1000 discs with out spacers and the std z1000 wheel will fit if you use the 636 wheel spacers and spindle,u will have to use the ax636 mudguard........

i did the 636 shock swap, made a massive difference to my z,i also used a zx10 linkage and the fitted straight on to the z,much stiffer spring, well worth the swap.Im doing the 636 front end swap shortly and will let you know how it goes.............
