I had a 2005 Yamaha R6, which was traded in to purchase the new Z. I really enjoyed it, but never rode it. I decided on getting something more comfortable.
The R6 was an awesome bike, but you really can't go wrong with the Yamaha/Kawi/Honda/Suzuki 600's. That bike was fast and everything was tight-throttle response, braking, turning, shifting. It had almost no power below 6k rpm, but that just made it more fun to shift through the gears.
The new Z is a different animal, but there are some things I will miss about the R6. Overall, I am definitely glad I made the switch.

My other Bike
Suzuki GSXR 750 frame 1100 motor bored out to 1216cc, yoshi cams ported and gas flowed head, HD clutch, GSXR750w forks 1100 wheels and billet 6 pot calipers, earls oil cooler and hoses, one off subframe with 916 tail unit, JMC swingarm and Ohlins rear shock and basically moddified everything, The tank and the rear sets are the only standard parts on it
I'm from England and thats where the Gix is but my parents live in the states so I got the Z1000 so I had a bike to use when i'm over there.
Also I'm relocating to the US early next year so the gixer will be shipped over and the Zed will be getting some intensive Streetfightering, I wouldn't get rid of the Z1000 it has some awesome potential for a serious hooligan tool
are you james bond or something. HA!HA! just kidding sometimes it's nice to see how the other side lives (wealthy) flitting all over the place .
i've heard of mutiple bikes but ( this is my bike for england this my bike for the states.) sounds like a rough life. keep us posted.
As well as the 2010 Z1000 I've got a 2005 ZX6R C1H, had it from new, it turned 66,000 miles last week. It does the bulk of my commuting to work, 100 miles a day round trip, it makes the journey more bearable when riding a nice bike.
