I had a 2005 Yamaha R6, which was traded in to purchase the new Z. I really enjoyed it, but never rode it. I decided on getting something more comfortable.
The R6 was an awesome bike, but you really can't go wrong with the Yamaha/Kawi/Honda/Suzuki 600's. That bike was fast and everything was tight-throttle response, braking, turning, shifting. It had almost no power below 6k rpm, but that just made it more fun to shift through the gears.
The new Z is a different animal, but there are some things I will miss about the R6. Overall, I am definitely glad I made the switch.
