i have taken my victory 8 ball to the drags at least 5 times, all told 50 runs. it has a pipe and down load only. my best time in the 1/8 mile is 7.58 et at 91 mph. not bad for a cruiser.
i raced a suzuki M 109 4 times with the same mods. he beat me all 4 times . but i only lost by 1 mph and a tenth et. he was also a old geezer like me. seems drag racing is not that popular here in so cal for the under 35 folks. maybe so cal just has to many other things to do.
the M 109 has more power than my victory but at 750 lbs and shaft drive thing equal out. he also had a pipe ,air filter system and a PC.
i did not race my Z1000 cuss it was over 90 DEG and i would have to put on full leathers if it goes over 100 MPH. i know the zed will be hard to drag race with its low gearing and fat tire. i doubt i could keep the front wheel on the ground. i did beat a HD xr 1200 . he had a pipe , big air kit with a PC. it was a fun night.ccasion:

You should be wearing full leathers at the drag strip anyhow, I got skinned up in jeans going 60mph... It would have been alot worse had I not been wearing leather gloves, and leather jacket w/ a full faced helmet. /soapbox

the fun thing about racing my victory is you rev it up and pop the clutch
, right away you can give it full throttle and hang on. no sport bike drama. my times were
1. 7.83
2. 7 81
3. 7.80
4. 7.78
5.7.81
very consistant and still fun. even 90 mph in 1/8 mile is fun.
a M109 and a HD XR1200 were in my class, it was fun racing them all the same.
