Finding nothing when it comes to aftermarket seat options. Anyone else finding the stock seat brutal after about 35 minutes?

For anyone in Cali... Corbon offers a free seat if they can borrow your bike.

Too bad Im in WI.

I would ask at your local bike shop to see if they know of someone who will redo your seat. I had a local shop put memory foam and a gel pad put in for less than $150 and its a LOT better than the stock seat. I have about 16k miles on my seat.
There's a lot of mixed reviews about Corbin seat.
I have a corbin seat on my sv 650.
Ive had it for over 2 years and love it.
My problem is i was going to get one for my 10 z1000,but after 4 emails to corbin they seem like they are just trying to blow me off!
As a repeat customer i would expect a little more.
So ive been looking elsewhere.
If anyone finds one please let me know and i will do the same...thanks guys!
i looked on ebay and there's some guy who sells a strap-on gel pad. the strap goes under the seat, they're about 50 bucks. just put in kawasaki gel seat.
You could have the stock seat redone. Can be had cheaper than an aftermarket depending on what all you want to do. I know sargent offers this. I love their seats BTW. www.sargentcycle.com

There are other options as well though. Rick Mayers is well known but expensive. Alternately, a local shop could scallop the stock seat foam and put inserts. This would probably be the cheapest route. And you could use your stock cover...Come to think of it, I would probably buy some of the atomic foam from sargent and have a local shop put it in.
wow, even the sargent prices are way to expensive.i'll buy a gel pad from ebay.
yeah well it's all high cause we buy it,if people would stop prices would go down.
Gell seat sounds good. I am surprised there has never been an aftermarket air cusioned saddle My neigbour has one for his recumbent bicycle it fills up like a regular tire out the back.

i thought is was just me stock seat kills my ***. hoping it will get better with time
Thanks for the link. I see the z1000 listed. Any review on how good/bad it is? Cant imagine it being worse than the stock seat.

I have no experience with them personally. I know several people that have them and love them. I figure individual results will vary from person to person. Try googling airhawk reviews and get several opinions.
Jell seat…Don’t do it.

I planned to go on a 500 mile round trip the other week and didn’t want a numb bum as I do get on my Z1000 after an hour of riding. So I bought a jell strap on seat for £45. If you can ever imagine riding whilst sitting on ball bearings under you ass…. horrendous. I pulled over after 10 miles and lobbed it over the hedge.
The stock seat isn't to bad but after a full day of riding my A$$ kills me and crotch feels like I have been riding a horse for 2 days!
Drat someone beat me to it... oh well back to the old drawing board. I would like to see photos of what thier design looks like incase it just looks completly rediculous.

Hahahaha. Guessing from what you did to them, you wouldn't recommend anyone to buy one of those. That must've been some really stiff gel they used if it felt like that.
hey guys I bought a set of decent cycling shorts with the gel bottom. I have never shopped for a custom seat since.

The best thing was; I used it with my Triumph and it still fits my Z1000! lol
tango, my friend just started riding last year. he's got a versys. he's also an avid cyclist. he told me 2 months ago to buy bicycle shorts. i haven't done it yet. don't want people to think i'm old. ha!ha! maybe i'll check into that this week and just not tell anyone.:rolleyes::rolleyes:
