So, I like to lean into the corners a little bit. The problem is, I scrape my feet and pegs on the ground when I do.
I've got aftermarket GP style foldable pegs which are slightly further from the ground than the stock ones because they don't have the wear bar underneath, but the difference in very little.
I plan on hitting Brainerd International Raceway next spring for a track day or two and was wondering what kinds of experience anybody has had with rearsets. Do they increase ground clearance enough to justify the price? I can't imagine I'll be leaning an awful lot farther because I'm already at the edge, but it would be nice to have a few extra inches. Do they ruin the ride position? I got the z because I didn't want to hug the tank all day, but I'm not sure how far back and up the pegs will move with rearsets. Will I still want foldable pegs or are they high enough that its not necessary?
I also need passenger pegs as well. My wife has big feet for a woman, ladies sz11 and I've got sz 11 mens, so with the stock setup she keeps the balls of her feet on the pegs or else her feet hit mine. I'm 6'1" and she's 5'8".
First gen Z rearsets, your pics and opinions?
I'm replacing the handlebars with lower ones as well, for two reasons. First, the PO had the bike strapped to a trailer and used metal hooks on the handlebars, so they're scratched up at the inside of the bends. No big deal, but I'm kinda picky about my bike. Second, because I want a lower profile look, different color, and SLIGHTLY more aggressive riding position. No clip-ons, no clubmans.
I'm looking at renthal lows or ultra-lows as well as Rizomas, simply because the Rizomas look really nice and I plan on getting their grips, end weights and mirrors as well. Renthals have that goofy crossbar though and I'm not sure if I like it or hate it.
I've found that I can actually get rearsets, passenger pegs and all the handlebar stuff from Rizoma, but I've never seen their stuff on a first gen Z. That and it's pretty pricy. 1,400-1,500 shipped for engine guards, mirrors, lux-grips, bars, end weights, rearsets and passenger pegs.

Handlebars anyone? Pics?
I promise I'll post pics when I get the stuff, before and after!
