my friend just told me on the phone that a test of a new ninja 1000 makes less HP than the ZED. even though the engines are the same the air box on the ninja is smaller to allow the bigger fuel tank. i think it was more than 5 HP. no big deal but to some of you HP junkies it is a deal breaker.

the curb weight of my old slow 2004 :lol: and the 2010 are not that far apart if you take into consideration the gas tank on the 2010 holds less fuel.:dontknow: about 8 lbs.

Yeah its sad, but it has the larger tank, more wind protection, and sports bike look that the masses love.....but I'll take my z over it anyday!

i like bike nights, and motorcycle hang outs. hard core sport bike riders come over to me and ask me lots of questions about street fighter bikes. you can tell they envy the riding position and openness of our bikes. i have worked on some race replica sport bikes BUSA,ZX14 etc. all that plastic sucks. it took me 1 hr to replace the oil filter on a BUSA. i never fell in love with modern sport bikes. i respect what they can do though.

my buddy has a 08 ZX 14. it has risers and slips. it is night and day more comfy than a BUSA. i road a BUSA with riding gear on and it was a chore at a stop light to put my feet on the pegs. yes the ZX 14 is a fantastic motorcycle.

Most road tests are getting faster 1/4 miles on the Ninja however.
