Well it obviously depends if your riding alone or two up . . . when I'm riding alone and going for a faster pace ride I tend to run 32-34 psi in the front and about 34-36 in the rear. I wouldn't go to much lower than that unless you were on a track with way better road conditions

the 03 is a very good bike, 125 RWHP and 430 lbs dry. same as the new one . and the 03 holds more gas. i go 150 miles on one tank . prolly could go almost 200 but that would be pushing it. my last tank on my stock 04 was just under 50 MPG. small things about the new Z 1000 are maybe better, but i like the more naked look of the 03 - 06. to each his own. my friend just got a 2010 ,i like riding it also.

I had an 03, sold it for the 2010 model.

I agree that the tank is smaller - about 0.8 gallons smaller. But, I commute on my bike and you know what Ive noticed? I get the same mileage between fill ups that I got on the 03 Z - around 140miles (I tend to ride fast...if I ride slowly, I can get 180 out of a tank...but who wants to ride slow?) That means that the 2010 model is actually more fuel efficient than the 03 was, as it gets the same mileage on a smaller tank.

As for the looks - to each their own. Personally, it was the looks of the 03 that drew me to it, and it was the looks of the 2010 that made me sell the 03. Go figure!

I know what you mean - thats one of the reasons I bought the Z as well - it was different, and I didnt want to ride the same thing everyone else was riding.

I remember stopping for gas once, and this guy coming over and asking me how I liked my KTM. I kept telling him that it wasnt a KTM - its a Kawasaki! LOOK - It even says so on the tank! No - he thought I just put that on the tank, and that it was a KTM because it was orange. I told him to STFU and just keep riding his Harley. Dumba**!
