Hi all. Just trying to get some info about the Z1000's. I found one on craigslist I am goign to look at and was just wondering if there are any issues that seem to be common that I should look for?? I've owned a couple bikes the most recent being a shadow spirit so the naked/sports are a new version to me. I have some friends with "croth rockets" what might the Z1000 compare to?

nothing compares to a z. ha!ha! closest thing to a standard bike that you will find. fz1, bandit 1200, b-king, are all japanese nakeds. there are sveral euro models also. but i don't say those words.:screwy::screwy::screwy:

The '03 is the year that had a recall on a frame weld at the steering head gussetts. I would check it out thoroughly, but other than that you should have no troubles. I have an '03 and have never had any issues with the frame welds, so don't let that scare you. I have almost 30k miles on my '03 Z1k.

now compared to the crotch rockets you have nothing to be jealous. you are going to be comfortable and fast enough to ride with them.
