Both look great. At the same time, I'm glad I didn't wait!

What country are these in USA?
well i got my 2010 black/silver about 3 weeks ago and wasn't prepared to wait the 2 weeks for the 2011, that's how anxious i was to get my hands on one and now that i see the new colours i'm quite happy with my decision.... mods are already planned to the tail, mirrors, levers and waiting for a carbon fibre tank protector.... absolutely love the beast...

Hey guys,

I'm new around here so I thought I'd say hello. I used to ride a lot but I've been off of bikes for a long time and I've been looking for just the right bike to ride again. I love sport bikes, but I'm not sure they like my body any more. I'm looking for something to ride every day, I like performance, I like to lean, and yet....I'd like something to ride in reasonable comfort for a reasonable distance without ending up in traction.

I took the MSF course a while back just to have some fun. No problems. Like I said, I used to ride a lot and the MSF course was like....well....like riding a bike!

So.... after a lot of reading and researching I keep hearing good things about this new Z1000. Everything I've read sounds very good. I love the black 2011! I'll bet that would look good with an Akropavic slip-on in carbon fiber!

I know I'm asking the choir here; but what do you guys think of the new bike? Any first-year mechanical issues?

haven't had mine long enough yet to know about problems. 3 weeks and 2300 miles. no issues, except stock tires don't last. read performance posts before you buy slipon. oh yeah welcome, lots of good people and information here.
No major issues that I've seen anywhere. There's a brake recall that's taken care of on the new bikes and the stick tires don't last, as Rick said, but I have yet to see anyone with a mechanical problem otherwise. I don't expect one.
thank's for the bailout ben. i forgot about the recall, mine was done when i bought bike. i'm sure all the bikes still in showroom will have been done by now. but not necessarily. i will probably have 5000 or more miles on mine by fall. should know more then. have seen some posts from guys who bought early this year. haven't seen any problems. i'm with you, i don't expect to.
The green one should be in our garage sometime this year!
welcome, thats quite a stable you've got there, where's the pics? have always had a soft spot for the zzr1200. but it's just a little to big for me.

Hey guys,

I'm the same Flyfisher. I have always preferred the look and feel of a sportsbike, but after owning a GSXR-600 for 6 months, I just wasn't getting comfortable on it, despite what everyone was saying.."don't worry, you'll get used to it, just keep riding"
Well that didn't work, the more I rode, the more I got strains and discomfort.

I still love it, and miss it after selling it, but found little point in riding in pain, defeats the purpose of riding.

I didn't like nakeds or sport tourers, so my choices looked slim until the 2010 Z1000 came available. I now just have a problem deciding on the colour. I've posted elsewhere here on the two I'm interested in, with a few colour modifications.
Upgrading from 2010 z750 to 2011 z1000

Hi guys, I will be upgrading from my 2010 z750 to the Black 2011 z1000 in spring next year...
I've attached a pic of my z750....
The bike weighs 226kg (European 2010 z750) 106hp from factory, exhaust may give it another 2hp.
I've added/changed:
SC Project matt black exhaust.
Rear hugger - Powerbronze
Belly Pan - Kawasaki
Tail tidy - Puig
Crash bungs/bobbins - R&G
Frt & Rr indicators - Micro
No other mods or additions...

very nice looking bike. what's it weigh? hp?:confused::confused::confused:
beautiful bike, seriously, great looking.

Dont let "not a biker" see it, he will crash on your parade for having a "plastic" covering the headlight mounting screws.
