Hey guys,

I think I've got a defective bike. It's missing the seatbelt!

No really, isn't there supposed to be a strap of some sort , in the trunk to yank and the driver seat pops loose?

It's my first non-cruiser bike and finally found out how to open the trunk. Well, I read that to remove the front seat, to just pull on the strap/belt, and there was a strap in there but not attached (looked like sunglasses strap).

I'm going to guess that the prior owner removed it or it's sitting somewhere underneath the seat.

Will removing the bolt that holds the seat allow me to get it off?

Thanks,

My understanding is that cruisers have them as a point to hold on to for a passenger. I've been told it's an inspectable item in the great state of Maryland if you have a rear seat? Maybe not. I would guess the grab bars take its place on my Ninja 1000
