Is it possible to lower the rear wheel of the z1000 to level the ride a little more?

I think I would describe that is lowering the ride height and not lowering the wheel. Which is controlled by the total expanded length (end to end) of the shock.

Actually what I want to do is lower the rear end a few inches to a more level riding position.

After thinking about this some more I guess you could go to a smaller outer diameter tire which case it would actually lower the wheel and intern your ride height, But you might have some clearance issues when leaned over.

lower the fork tubes in the triple clamp, this will raise the front end

i have no idea why you would want to do that though

if you want a higher handlebar, buy a higher handlebar

You'll have to get a lowering kit for the rear end. The shock doesn't have an adjustable length.
