Hey guys,
New to the forum and thought i'd chuck on my first post. Always ridden dirt but made the move to a new 2011 Z1000 about a month ago. Awesome bike and a very different world riding out on the road. Great fun though!

Wanted to see what people thought about aftermarket exhausts??? Not sure which brand to go with - anyone have any suggestions???

Also, the 2010 would be the same, but its damn difficult to get sufficient room to the chain so that i can spray it with lube without coating the whole rear half of the bike!!!! Any ideas there????

I'm no help on the exhaust but the chain is easy. Put it on a stand and spin the rear tire with one hand while spaying the chain with the other...

I have an 4 to 1 Akrapovic system ordered..its in customs atm..should be here within the week...will shave about 10kg of weight off my 2011 Z1000
wont know the HP gains til I install the system, K & N & PCV & Dyno it

Yeah, was thinking about the akrapovic, pretty sure thats the way i'll go.

i put syth brake grease on my sprocket by hand. a thin coat on the teeth is all that is needed. the chain has o rings to protect the rollers inside. my chain is 7 years old with 15,000 miles on it. i have never needed to adj the chain in the 6,000 miles i have owned the bike. once in a while i put 140 gear lube on a rag and wipe the chain down. but i also wipe most of the oil off with another rag. very little grease gets on my rim as i ride. their are a lot of other good ways to keep the chain in good shape. this is the one i use.

Akrapovic slip ons on mine and love the sound. Don't think I can feel any power gains being that they are so minimal. Will at some point upgrade to the full system, but two into two, I like the look of the twin pipes better then a single.

my full muzzy cures two of your problems got it from fuelmoto. it leaves the mount for the stock exhaust clear i use it to jack the rear tire off the ground to mclean wheel and lube the chain.:screwy::screwy::screwy:

Yeah i was checking out the pipes you put on your bike a few weeks ago. Cant decide how the chrome brawlers will look on my 2011 which is pretty much all black....wonder if they come in black???

they have chrome for 250 the black is 299.
If you really want blck an logosand lightly then put vasaline in the logo shoot the pipes then let the dry and wipe out te vasaline afte full paint cure..and viola custum pipes.
