LED turn signals

I just swapped out the factory plate hanger for an R&G tail tidy with LP short stalk Razor LED turn signals. When everything was wired up and turned on the turn signal would not flash. We installed resistors,that I was told by my shop would work with the signals but that did not work. Every time we turned the signals on we could hear the relay trying to work but the signals would not flash. My partner and I have done three 08 cbr 1000s pretty much the same way and all worked well. He is a licensed electrician so his wiring knowledge is pretty sharp. He believes we have to determine what resistance is necessary to have the signals/relay operate properly, to match the factory incandesnt bulb. Any suggestions on resistor types is appreciated. Any yes we rechecked how things were wired several times.
