Hey all! I’m new to the forum, I recently purchased a 2010 Z1000 with 13k miles and have noticed a sort of pinging or ticking noise when I turn the bike off after a ride. I’m using 91 octane fuel. Is this something I should be worried about?

If its a high pitch, low volume sound, then its most likely your tank creating a vacuum and trying to release it. That is nothing to worry about on the Z.

Welcome & yes, its not a noise to be concerned with if you have checked all your fluid levels not including the Gas* in tank.

*does it make the same noise when the tank is full or low?

the popping after turning the bike off is the catalytic converter cooling down. Perfectly normal, cars do this too, but usually after driving them hard. Bikes do it even on a regular ride, especially when it's hot outside.
