Those of you with an integrated tail light, has anyone added an inline resistor to slow the flash down? The previous owner put an integrated light on it and the flash is ridiculously fast. I hate it. Was looking to see if anyone has installed one with a resistor and what size it was to slow things down a bit.

If it is a Clear Alternatives Tail light....it will usually have a 20 watt 5 ohm ceramic resistor for each side.....Go to Radio Shack and show them this pic

Thanks, I looked on the light and sure enough it states "CLR ALT". I'll look for those resistors. I have a hard time believing both resistors are bad...unless the ohms aren't enough. I have been reading in other forums that guys have put up to 50 ohm resistors with these things to get back to a DOT flash rate...seems a bit excessive.

be careful because they get real hot if you leave the blinker on to long.over 30 sec

Well took the undertail down and found them. The solder was broken off one side of the resistor. After re-soldering the wire back on it, the flash rate didn't change so I am assuming at least one of them is still bad. I will try and run to the local electronics store and see if I can find a few more to swap in there and see if that takes care of it.

Make sure one side of the resistor is going to ground and the other is soldered across the signal wire to the blinker or it won't work
