i took my 2004 Z1000 to a certified scales today. acurate to withen 2 lbs.
my bike was 458 lbs . that is with 4 1/2 gal of gas. the 03-06 holds 5 gal gas. that also is with the tool kit in the bike approx 3 lbs. so if i wanted to really get it as light as possible i would say with a 1/2 tank of fuel and no tools it might get down to 449 or so.
i have a full stainless MUZZY no carbon fiber muffler or other trick light parts.
parts eleminated
1. stock tail section tail tidy installed]
2.used mini turn sigs ft & rear
3. bar end mirrors
4. no horn [ the muzzy is my horn]
5. cut down the stock muffler hangers [ rear set extentions]
i bet a few super sports are not that light
