How much do you guys pay to insure your Z1000? Just trying to compare rates. I'll start with mine.

State Farm Insurance:
2010 Z1000
Full Coverage with a $500 deductable
$110 a month.
Age: 27
No Accidents on my record.

Am I gettin raped? :confused::confused:

I would say no , at 27 and riding a 1000 bike in the (sport class ) it's about right
you could raise your deductable to 1000 and that would lower your monthly bill .

are you single or married . believe or not it makes a difference

i pay 250 a year for liability and comp.(critter insurance). after reading kweezy's post have been thinking of going full with 1000 deductible. was quoted 450 a year. have two bikes insured plus my wifes house. so i get a break. 54, married, no accidents, no tickets, excellent credit score.(that helps.)

I am in oklahoma... statefarm insurance... i get multicar discount, home owners, and good driving record (thanks to a goof up of state accidently clearing my record)
I pay 18 dollars a month soooo sooo sooo much better then my r1 was hahahaha.
I love this Z... I love bikes I am a fan of all makes and models.. but this Z1000 has it all comfort sport feeling and I use to race Ktm dirt bikes so being orange and having a monster 1000cc dirt bike feel is awesome.... I almost feel like Im taking advantage of my insurance and should pay more....... but yeah no it feels good to screw them the way they have done me in the past hahahaha

I'm 21, no accidents or anything bad. I pay about $180 a month for full coverage on my -09 Z1000 ABS.

But then I live in Sweden so I'm not shure that you can really compare with mine :p

I know, cant believe it. 2 years ago geico wanted around 1600 a year for coverage on my buell. Its funny how 2 years makes a difference. Im not sure if its my age or the bike itself. Maybe both.
The insurance rates were one of the biggest deciding factors for me when buying my bike. I originally wanted a CBR 1000 RR but the CHEAPEST rate I could find for one of those was almost $200 a month. A friend asked me if I had ever heard of a "naked" bike and the rest is history. It is amazing that insurance companies classify the Z the way they do. I laughed all the way to the bank!!

I'm at $110/mo full coverage too, BUT, that's my Z1000 and my DR650. But I know the DR is peanuts by comparison. That price is also 2x what it was when I had my ER-6n.

Might have something to do with one ticket, but also might have something to do with a sub-one-year riding history too.

I agree with BeastIncarnate that comparisons are most meaningful in your area. For what it's worth, I pay $202 a year with Allstate (~$17/mo). That is for full coverage with $500 deductibles. I am 36, married, with kids, and live in upstate NY. The upstate part probably accounts for a lot of the low rate.

When I first called Allstate to get a quote, they asked me if it was a sport tourer, and I said yes. Their initial quote was more than $400 a year. Later, I had to get the VIN from my salesman and he told the insurance company that the Z1000 was a standard bike. The quote immediately dropped from $400 to $200.
