Hello guys, I registered a few days ago and I was observing and pretty much read every post in here. By the way IT'S VERY NICE. I 've been an 07 black z1000 owner for the past three years and I love it. I live with my brother so we have two z1000 in the garage right now (he has the white 2008 Z). This is our introduction. Oh we are from Ohio and about to graduate from Ohio State. Any other people from Ohio?

Previous bikes: 06 Ducati Multistrada 620 Dark, 2007 Yamaha R6.

I hate when people tell me I have a headlight out, but hear it all the time. I also get asked if my Z is a Buell, or KTM alot. I have also had people ask me what size it is... a 650 they say....

...some peoples children.

Things I hear a lot are:
1. your headlight is out. ( i stopped replying to that just turn the high beam on)
2.I always wanted to get a bike. Can I take it for a ride?
3. engine size. (it says 1000 you really think its a 600?)
4. How fast is it. (like I can explain)
5. Looks comfy...( ride it for 400 miles and come and tell me)
6. did you take the fairings out. Is it a stunt bike? (yes, I have a TV show on Speed too.)
7. Thats a weird exhaust. (Yes, and I like it. where is yours? Oh you don't have a bike...Shame...)

You guys have anything?

I fixed the headlight problem...dark smoke tinted headlight cover & high beam on ..when it gets dark the headlight cover comes off easy & back to normal lighting

I get the light comment sometimes, but more often people ask me to wheelie.

People in Charlotte guess it's a stunt bike and I kin'a agree

So I do sometimes, If the road is clear and I feel like it.

most heard comment, that looks really fast. next, do a wheelie. my answers are are it only does 150 but it gets there really fast. and twist of the wrist. can't seem to keep the front wheel down. tire still spins in first through third if you whack it hard. but it really sticks on the twisties. scrapin pegs now.:screwy::screwy::screwy:

Wheelies are not my thing, high speed cornering is. Especially some highway enters and exits that i get to drive/ride every day... OMG I've mastered them.
About that tinted headlight. Is it removable? You can have it on and off the bike anytime you want? I've never came across anything like that before.

i just wonder how you can reuse it? it should have some meeting points between the actual headlight and the cover. when you take the cover out they should be visible. i dont know maybe a couple pictures would be nice.

It attaches with something like velcro..except it hard plastic...you are left with 4 tiny dots on the headlight when you take it off (about 5mm circle) which can be removed & reused if you really need em off ..I only take the cover off if Im night riding (help prevent stone chips on your headlight too...you can leave it on at night but it will make the high beam about as bright as a low beam .

Hey Natty are these mounts for soft or hard luggage! Good looking bike. Very good looking. they dont have that cover for mine. only a rainbow and i dont like it. i ll look more into it.

I use a ventura rack system (google it ) works great, easy to use, is neat & keeps everything off your fairings

Hey what's up Rick, I think the Z1000 can reach 170mph. So far I only hit 150 to but felt like it can go a lot faster...It wasn't windy either so no a lot of vibration in the handle bar

What's up Zannisvel? How do you feel about the difference in power from the R6 to the Z1000?
