Okay, installed bar risers and pro taper moto bars. pulled out cables and wires long enough to reach, throttle body wires wouldnt reach to new bars. So, had to cut them all and put about 1.5 inch extensions in to be able to get everything to fit. However, installed mps tether also to the bright red wire that goes to the shut off toggle button. I thought that wire would work out to 'break' the circuit when the the tether is removed.

Soldered ALL Wires and heat shrink wrapped them all. Tried to do thIS the right and correct way.

GOt it all installed with the tether. One black tether wire to one end and the other black tether wire to the other end of the Bright Red wire.

Then, go and turn the bike/key over, and I get a fast 'clicking' noise I think from the starter or celenoid and nothing!??? It wont even start.

So, now.....I REMOVED the tether wire from the equation, put in a basic 'jumper' wire from one end of the RED wire to the other end, and still nothing!!! Bike dont want to start at all??????? it just gives me that fast clicking sound coming from the starter or celenoid.

Should I use the Yellow wire with the red stripe? instead of the Bright red wire?

I have attached some pics of my project and my problem!!!

This is a 05 z1000

It sounds like it wants to start, but either there is not enough power in the battery, or some wiring was not done correctly; assuming everything was kosher before you attempted the project.

I think I know what you did here. when you attached the tether to the kill switch wire, you completed a ground. Have you tried starting the bike without the tether altogether?

tether

Yes, when I wired it in and it didnt work. I took off the tether wires completely. I put in just a piece of wire as a jumper to both ends of the red wire and then tried to start it up and nothing.

I am gonna take out my battery and charge it up, then try again and see what happens.
