Hi guys, I am planning to change the air filter on my Z1000 (2008) and don't know whether the bike has a fuel tap I can turn off in order to avoid emptying the tank with a pump.

Cheers.

if it's like a 2010 you can leave the bolt by the seat in and raise the front and prop it up with an extension to change the filter.

The tank does not have a fuel tap, make sure the ignition is off- better still disconnect battery, disconnect the fuel line - special connector
The raise it a small amount an disconnect the fuel pump an gauge wires an away you go
Just have a rag on hand for a small amount of fuel out of the line

Its not going to dump all over like a tank with a petcock would.

There is a quick-disconnect on the gas line. You will drip a couple of tablespoons of gas, and thats it.
