do all standard zeds suffer from this or is it just because mine has different end cans on is it a common fault as i thought the injection system would map out the extra air flow with non standard cans

All FI bikes from the factory are leeeen to meet epa standards.
Any mods just make this problem even more evidant.
Especially at higher elevations.
Buy a fuel cotroller you bike will thank you,and you will thank your bike!
Peace and ride safe....Barry

Also guys don't forget that all the stock bikes have a secondary butterfly plates that open alot slower than the throttle that will cause a hesitation. It was another EPA add and it protects some riders from their selves. A Power commander and removing those will make it feel like a completely different bike, :)

You know what the problem is??

You are cracking open the throttle SLOWLY. Screw that! Grab a handful on the corner exit!!!

Seriously - time for a Power Commander...

removing the secondary throttle plates? is that the first set of butterflies or the second and can i remove without removing the control sleeve so my engine management wont through a fit
It's the set closest to the air box. You can remove them by just unscrewing the plates. then the bike doesn't throw any codes. But you need a power commander first because the fuel is trimmed with throttle percentage. so your air fuel will be out of whack. Air box mod/ or pods, secondary plates removed, PCIII, and a good tune and you will have a completely different bike. you will also increase you gas mileage. because you are not choking the motor anymore. I have done this to several Z and can walk you through it if you need any help. just give me a shout. :)
