Actually .... A regulator or stator very well could do that, it's worth testing them both. Electronics tend to crap out with after a while with exposure to temperatures, and sitting still on a warm day in heavy traffic will certainly help reveal it, could even be a pinched harness or a bad ground. I have a factory Kawi service manual if you need a diagram or values for testing stator / regulator, I believe it covers both US and some European Gen 1

Sorry, I failed to read through the entire thread ( noob move ) .... I do have a wiring diag for AUS models in my book, if you need it give a shout 馃憤

All good but definitely the ecu.
Hasn't skipped a beat since mounting the CPU fan.
