I am adding my PC3 and pulling the FLIES (Secondary Throttle Plates) on my 07 this spring, and was pondering about cutting out the convertor, then was told it can be gutted. Has anyone tried this on the Forum.....will it produce flow close to an aftermarket Header ? I already have $700 invested in slip-ons
and would love to do this mod myself if it's worth it.:dontknow:

Didn't think of this before I posted.....the cat is in the stock cans....not the header.

one advantage to the 03-08 ZED, the cats are in the mufflers. so a pair of slips work fine. that stock head pipe[ header] is light and not restrictive.

i couldn't believe how much difference between stock exhuast and muzzy. the whole exhaust felt as light as on of the mufflers. may be exaggerating a little but not much. if i could have figured out how to run one slipon i would if there was no cat. lees than 700 for whole exhaust was a no brainer for me. pipe is very loud though. no more stealthy entrances or exits. can be heard all over town. have to be more careful now.

MUZZY rules. i love my MUZZY. yes a little loud. maybe that is a good thing. it might keep you from blasting the throttle all the time.

Where is the cat on the 2010+ bikes? Is it that big ugly squarish thing underneath? I really like the stock mufflers but wouldn't mind dropping some weight and maybe waking it up just a smidge.

I thought I was crazy when I picked up my titanium muzzy and the entire system weighed less than the stock header. It has the perfect sound too...

Sorry to bust your hopes but the 07 had 3 cats one in each side and one in the header that big round part right before the split is the cat

mine too. rob yes that's it. i put a full muzzy on my 2010. just because of that. really wakes it up. second feels like first now.:screwy::screwy::screwy:
