Mostly, it's applied to electric system.
1). Different ECU model;
2). Different ABS ECU;
3). 6-pin diagnostic port;
4). Additional protocol of diagnostic.
5). 3-pin gear sensor with different kind of install, using the bolt. (For example, if you will buy. contract gearbox from 14-16 for 17+, you will be surprised).
6). New induction real weal rotation ABS sensor, they are not compatible.
7). Different rear shocks, on 17+ length is less for 5 mm. But bigger part of tuning shocks have adjustable length, so the YSS 4g shock fit perfectly;
8) Metric odometer unit with gearbox.

It's list which I met on my own experience.
