Not usually. Most of them are meant to be universal. I have a Datatool DiGi Gear Indicator for my 2010 Z I bought many years ago and it's very good. It splices into the wiring harness, then needs programming. Maybe now they have specific indicators for for specific bikes to where they can be plug and play. If not don't let that stop you, the directions provided are so simple a cave man could do it. I also created a housing for mine on a 3d printer that clips to the handlebars and incorporates a button needed for programming.
