Does anyone have any experience with 'Targa 2010-2011 Kawasaki Z1000 Fender Eliminator Kit'? It looks helpful to improve the appearance of the motorcycle with a smoother racing look. It is a complete kit includes a 4 LED license light. This kit is available for $82.95 and I think it's a good deal, but want to know your views before placing the order. I also want to make your about the installation.

Thanks in advance for your inputs.

I got one for my bike. Install was a snap and I think it looks pretty clean. I like it much better than some of the others Ive seen on Ebay and i'm not dropping $120 for a tail tidy. Here a pic of it installed.

Go to home Depot buy a piece of aluminum 90% 2"x2" angle, cut to size 6"-8" depending on how big you want it. cut the front plate 2" on both ends.this means cut off 2" on the front sides. Then bend down the top plates on both sides, this will make an open box. then drill holes on both sides for the blinkers. If you like you can cut the sides to look like triangles or leave them squarer that's up to you.Make sure your piece of aluminum is long enough so the blinkers stick out farther than the tag. Then take off your old tag mount and bolt it to the front of your new tag mount that you just made.Next drill holes on the top plate so you can stick the bolts through so that it can be mounted to the bike. Very simple to make.I hope this works View attachment 37279

The Targa kit's a breeze, Zino. I put it on mine, and I'm not -exactly- a mechano/electro-phile.

Sharp lookin' mount, Street; your girl's right - If you can drum up the interest, you definitely should put a few out there.

Zephyr, thanks for putting up the schematics; makes me feel stupid for paying $90 for mine :p

By the way; here's the link to the Targa page, if anyone needs it:

Yeah I got the same one as slope from ebay, its easy to install, just need to snip the wires and reattach them for the turn signals because there is a washer in the fender that you cant get around the connector so you cant take it out of the fender assembly. But its a breeze, and it looks SO much better.

LOL. This weekend, I built one for under $5!!

The actual bracket that the plate is hanging off - just so happens to line up almost perfectly with the middle bolts that are holding the entire fender on the bike. I removed the fender, took the plate braket off and turned it 180*, then tucked it into the area the fender was removed from. Bought two 1" right angle shelf brackets and four bolts with nylock nuts. Hung the right angles off the plate bracket and then bolted the plate to the right angle brackets. Took me half an hour and was less than $5 at the hardware store. Had to slightly widen the holes in the untail with a drill in order to fit in the existing bolts - but only very slightly. Otherwise it was damn near a bolt on!

One of these days I am going to go about getting a flickr acct so I can post these pics...

Question regarding the Targa Fender Elim. Although it is the best looking of the kits out there (IMO), am I the only person who thinks that the indicator lights look a little small? Almost too small to be easily noticible by idiot car drivers?

I would be intersted in any feedback from guys who have installed it on their bikes.
