Hey Y'all,

I'm awaiting the arrival of my 2nd 1st Gen Z, had one in London when I lived there in '05. Found an 06 here in the U.S. and I can't wait for her 'git here :)

She still has the stock exhaust, and a local dealer told me that he can source SS Muzzy 4-2-1's "all day long" for around $1000 fitted. Seems a bit high to me, so I got to thinking... Can anyone tell me if the stock Headers from a Z750 will fit the Z1? I'm thinking same block essentially so prob'ly so, but I'm sure there's people 'in the know' here...

Thanks! Keep the rubber side DOWN! :)

for $1k; I would try for an Akrapovic full system. IDK about that Z750 header, but I have heard of people using ZX9 headers with minor modifications.

Thanks for the response, I've heard the ZX9R headers work by cutting off the collector & rotating it 180 degrees to clear the base of the rear shock on the Z. I had a Micron 4-2-1 on my original Z but I hear they are no longer in business.

$1K for stainless steel pipes for a 5 year old bike? For a couple hundred more you could get full Ti and carbon fiber!

I had a ZX9R header on my old one - and I didnt have to cut and rotate anything. Just bolted on...had a Muzzy canister in carbon in it. Crashed it, got the stainless steel one.

I think the Akra is Ti & carbon.... Anyhow what does it matter how old the bike is if it is what you want to ride? :dontknow:
