I don't see the point in clip ons if you have to raise up them to the same height at the original MX bars in order to clear the gas tank. Any lower than maybe 1-2cm than original position and it will hit the gas tank.

If you want clip ons just for the "look", then use the Ninja 1000 upper triple clamp and clip ons. The triples on both bikes have a 50mm clamping diameter and same headstock bearing and diameter. It is a direct bolt on. But then problem with that is that the 4th gen Z1000 forks are about 25mm shorter than the Ninja forks and thus you would essentially lower the from of th bike by that amount. But, it does clear the gas tank just fine.
