My second Rear Avon Storm 2 Ultra just arrived today. I have over 11,000 miles on the current one and still another 1500 or so to go on it. I bought the pair back in June of last year and I'm highly impressed with the performance
and handling of these Tri-compound Touring Tires. Great cornering ability and amazing wet weather traction. For the price, you can't find a more versatile and Quality tire in my opinion . $181 shipped....Motorcycle Superstore

I haven't tried any of the Avon stuff yet. My Pirelli Angel rear lasted all last summer, about 8k miles, and it's being replaced by another one because my Angel front is still good. I love the look and feel of the Angel, but then again that's the only tire I've ever had on this bike so I wouldn't know the difference. After this summer I'll need both tires, so I'll look into the Avon for sure.

I'm a fan of the bridgestone battleaxe 023 sports touring tire. Its a dual compound tire thats also made to ride great in the rain. Had it on my last bike and showed no wear after 600 to 800 miles.

I had the Battleaxe on my ninja 650....good tire....found these Avon's through the grapevine and been very pleased....Triple compound tire....Deep Deep tread....well worth the money if you do alot of highway miles like I do.:D

Michelin Pilot Road 2CT's here. Dual compound... harder in the center for long life, and softer on the sides for cornering. And love the rain traction too. I'll have to look at the Avons for a future set.

You know, I had this argument with friends the other day, no such tire exists. There's a Pilot Road 2 and a Pilot Power 2CT.

I have the Pilot Road 2 on my 599 right now and I agree, great tire. Check it.

No argument would have been needed if somebody used a simple google search option::dontknow:
Michelin Motorcycle Tires

Pilot Road 2CT (rear) lasted ~12,000 miles on my CBR 600RR. The front still has 40% tread left. I put it aside when I got a pair of the Power 2CT. Got about 9,000 on the Pilot Power 2CT (rear). Still have about 40% on that front one and will be replacing it with another Pilot Power 2CT. Very quick warm up time for a street tire, dragging knee not a problem if it's your thing on the street.

As for the Zed, I'll be putting the Power's on her too when it comes time to get rid of these awful Dunlop's...

To each his/her own...different strokes for different folks...:eek:ccasion:

I have never had a tire last that long ever. I get about 5 or 6kmiles on the rear on continental conti motions which I thought was good. since I got the, on sale at JC motors for $93 I didn't think it was a bad deal.

i have a avon storm that is a good tire but not for sporty riders comuters and rain riders it would be perfect. I got on it coming out of corners twice and spun and didn't like that, so I went to the avon 3d ultra sport like it alot as well

The original Pilot Road was updated to the Pilot Road 2CT about 5 years ago. They then changed it to calling it the Pilot Road 2 when the Pilot Road 3's were announced. Had them on my Versys a while ago; still a great tire.
