hi guys have a z1000 classic, battery drains if not used for a week.Drains really quick if it doesnt fire straight away (less than 1 hr ).new battery fitted,tested.new stator plate and reg rec.checked earth is clean.seems to have a fuel starvation problem too.any ideas ??????????

is your bike an older kz 1000 or an early z1000. i would check for parasiyic drain. unhook either cable from the battery and hook a test light between the unhooked cable and battery connection. light should be on. remove fuses one at a time til light goes off the draw will be in that system. check manual to see what it controls. if it doesn.t go out the draw is on an unfused circuit. very few options on an older bike. would think possibly a bad ignition switch or possibly voltage regulator or rectifier. i once bought a n old kz 1000 classic for parts when i wrecked my ltd. odd shaped tank and fenders if i remember right. hope you find it.:welcome::screwy::screwy::screwy:

Is this the chrome tanked, Fuel injected one?
