Just got a new set of barends from motorcycle superstore. However I cant seem to loosen the bolt to get the old one's off. I'v tried using the correct hex key along with a rubber mallet approach. Does anyone have an idea on how to remove the old ones?

impact drill should do the job

Yeah, the stock ones I just took off when I changed my bars required an impact driver to remove, the kind that you hit with a hammer. A three inch screw covered from top to bottom with loctite.

I ended up using a soldering iron. Held it on the end of the bolt for about 45 seconds which melted the red locktite.
