Whatsup fellas? Picked up a new 2011 Z last month, in green / black. Worked a steal of a deal from Champions in Cocoa, FL (they made me promise not to tell people I paid less than $8500, but they don't read this forum, so...)

Started motorcycling as a pre-teen on dirtbikes, ATCs (remember those dangerous / tippy three-wheeled things from the 70's & 80's?) and quads on my uncle's property in the Tehachapi mountains of SoCal. Since then I've had all manner of street bikes, from old standards to 600 & 1000cc supers, and even a Versys thrown in for good measure.

Even after only about 70 miles on my new Z, I can tell this one's a keeper.

Welcome to the site, bro!

I ALMOST wish I waited until 2011 to get the green one. But I couldnt wait - so I have the 2010 in white/orange!

Keeper indeed! This is my third Z1000...first got stolen, second got traded for the third!

Nah, its all good. TBH, I'm not a huge fan of the 1st and 2nd gen Z1Ks, but 2010-on are sweeeeet! All the color schemes are cool, in their own ways; though I'm partial to the 2011 blacked-out exhaust. :D

I got "on it" a little yesterday. It feels like there's more powah here than my old ZX10. Probably because the Z1Ks gearing makes the motor's powerband accessible at legal speeds. Whereas the ZX-10 would do something like 93mph in first gear, so accessing it's powerband required either a racetrack or risk of jailtime. Boo.

Was that 8,500 out the door? I gave 8,900 for my 010 :welcome:
Actually, it was just a shade over $8000....plus freight, setup, dealer fee, admin fee, fee-fee, etc fee....state tax and tag xfer. Basically, they charge a BS dealer and setup fee, but I negotiated that off the price of the bike (I guess it gets most people, but not me ;-) I was at $10,240 OTD, with 4-year GTPP extension. Not bad.... $8900 OTD woulda been awesome!
