i have a 04 also . i did install a MUZZY full system without the air box mod. if i wanted more power i would get a PC and do the air box mod. my bike runs so sweet i do not want to F with a good thing. you know merfeys law.
Listen do the lid mod & cool air injection only, secondaries butterflies, K&n filter pcIII, Just make sure you have it mapped by a professional and you want complain :thumbsup::thumbsup:

I wouldn't do the air box mod without a PC3, it would make it run a lot leaner. Throttle response and power would more than likely be worse than it was stock because it would be running so lean. Remember, most bikes come lean stock, so by doing mods like this that introduce more air and induction just make it run even leaner.

After you properly have it set up with a PC3, then do the the air box mod and K&N.

just to stir the pot someplace i saw a A/F ratio and dyno chart of a guy that did the air box mod on a 2003 with a full system and he made 132 RWHP and the A/F ratio was so close the dyno guy told him a PC would be a a waste of money. i would not be scared to do this and get a dyno pull right away. but be prepaired to do the PC right away.
all stock motorcycles are rich not lean on full throttle . this is to protect the engine from damage under full power.

Not to hijack the thread, but while we're on the topic, I have a question as well!

I'm in Alberta, where it is 3500 feet above sea level - would a set of slip on exhaust and air box mod make it run too lean, or would the high altitude offset all of this? (this is assuming the computer doesn't take care of all of the difference in altitude)

Any input is appreciated.

That's what I mean, sorry, I was not very clear in the last post. Here's what I'm thinking, if the computer does not adjust for altitude, I should be running a bit on the rich side. Now I'd be interested in doing the air box mod and adding exhaust, which should lean things out, would the two offset?
