89 Ninja ZX1000 counter balance shaft alignment

Im rebuilding my 89 ZX1000 and i have everything ready to go together, but my service manual doesnt say anything about aligning the counter balance shaft with the crank shaft. The counter weight has a dot on it but there is no marks at all on the crank shaft. I need some one to help me out with my problem i have a good idea but i dont want to get it all together just to find out i was wrong and i wasted all that money for nothing.
