Hey guys I got a killer deal on a low mile 2nd gen powerplant so just bought it...I'd like to slap it in my 1st gen frame is it all plug and play or is it a nightmare?looking to do asap if not too hard as motor I've got now is slapped

I bet it plugs into most of the stuff. Two big things is the ecu has to be different, they changed a bit on the motor between gen 1 and 2. And two they made the engine a stressed member in 2007 with a new frame and subframe, so it just might have different mounting points. Honestly you’re going to have to mock it up if you want a real answer to this question, you can get a tuned ecu or whatever else it might need but if the frames are too different you’re up the creek

A running gen 2 can be had for reasonable money. It would be less expensive to buy one,rather than what it would cost in time and money to fit a gen 2 engine in a gen 1 chassis.

If it's something you want to do for the hell of it,that's fine,but it won't be straightforward or cheap.
