First ride of the season today. Before the ride, I
1. flushed coolant,
2. installed charger/phone holder, 3. put on slip on exhaust and
4. adjusted clutch slack.
Back to the bike issue. I can’t gain speed beyond 42-45 miles an hour. Throttle input doesn’t have an effect. What could be the reason? Any advice will be appreciated.

head scratcher for sure. Bad gas maybe? How long did she sit? Maybe she's just mad at you :D

Work backwards but start with undoing any electrical that you may have done.

Check for unplugged connections where you did the work.

I wonder if disconnecting the battery for and hour or so would re-set things -my car does that but not sure bikes are the same.

I agree, Bad Gas & or, Bad Gas with that bullshit Stabilizer.

Siphon as much gas* out as you can, replace it with Premium.

*dont waste the gas, give it to the local R1 & R3 Jockeys or Scooter riders.

Or your significant other has jerry rigged a speed governor to keep you safe.

Good new guys!
I had taken the fairing out about a week before working on the bike. Guess what, mice made themselves at home in the airbox with all the junk. Now its all good. Lesson learnt.

It is an excellent story none the less - it's a miracle you didnt suck one of them into the fuel injection - apart from the airbox did you have to do anything else?

I can't think of any....maybe retracing steps as you changed your plugs will reveal something...just a wild guess coming from a dude without an actual idea.

Confucius says; sometimes, actual ideas are the beginning of confusion.

Fantastic Mate!

What are the COVID 19 Riding/Driving Restrictions in your area.

Are they canning everyone with merciless 30 day impound for anyone riding a Z* slowly?

*25mph over the speed limit
