Thought I would share this information about what I did for some additional wind protection on my 2011 Z1000.

I ended up getting the genuine Kawasaki accessory screen after looking at the PUIG and Calsci screens. I think all of them look good - maybe the PUIG actually looks the best because the angles match the original angles - but ended up with the Kawi screen just because I tend to stick to the manufacturer's parts when available.

This screen is only 1.5 inches taller than the stock screen, but it curves upward as well so it does deflect most of the wind that otherwise hits you square in the chest. Now the wind hits me in the shoulders, and I haven't noticed any additional turbulence around the helmet (although I am still breaking the bike in and have not gone over 70 mph yet).

just finished putting mine on , think it looks better than the stock shield . hoping to get out for a ride with it tomarrow
zrider, did you put the included rubber edge strip on it?

I didn't put mine on, and it doesn't really seem necessary. But the reason I didn't put it on was because I wasn't sure how to do it. The instructions seemed to say to start it where the windshield meets the cowl, wrap it around the top edge, and back down the other side, cutting off the excess with scissors. I started doing that, but it didn't seem to hug the top corners very well. I did see a picture another member posted where he just put the rubber strip along the top edge, and did not wrap it down the sides. Like I said, it doesn't seem to be necessary anyway, but the instructions should have included a picture at least, IMO.

Thanks jrick!

Best I could do was 15% off from the Kawasaki dealer I bought the bike from, so it was $110 (129 minus 19). Not cheap, but it is good quality and looks like an OEM part.
