hi ive had this 2006 z1000 over 3 years with no problems until recently it starts first push on starter sounds fine no misfires or anything rides great but just splutters and dies after bout 7miles ish usually starts right away but keeps doing same every few miles had fuel pump out stripped and cleaned and fresh fuel thought I d sorted it as filter had loose paint around it got it back out for road test and same thing happening have tried getting self diagnostic codes using wire to neg on battery but nowt comes up help hope I m on right forum this time jimz
So you are getting no diagnostic codes at all ?
Do you have a copy of the manual that explains how to do it ?
There are two modes of diagnostics, have you checked both ?
the manual says there are certain problems related to the fuel pump and injectors, ECU power and ground that can not be stored or displayed
How old is the battery ?
Was everything at one time work correctly ?
When did this problem start ? (like it was working well but I stored it for the winter and when I took it out of storage this problem started)
