Hey guys -- tried to piece together an answer to my questions by searching the forum, but did not quite get there... here are the direct questions:

1) On my 2007 Z1K with the only current mod being Two Bros CF slip-ons, what do you suggest for an after market air filter and fuel controller combo? (K&N?, Juice Box?, PCIII?)

2) If doing step one above, should I modify the airbox?

I really don't want to dyno my bike and do any professional tuning. It appears to me that the Juice Box and PCIII have default maps for my slip-ons with an aftermarket filter. If this is a complicated process requiring professional help, I will stay away from it -- looking for plug and play.

I will not be using it as a track tool or doing anything crazy -- like thinking I can outrun a liter sportbike. I am just a dude who wants to get the most out of my machine for the simple pleasure of it. This will probably be the extent of my mods as I don't want to sink too much more money into the bike (e.g. full exhaust).

Thanks!

You got a good start already. I went with the PCIIIUSB, Yosh cans, K&N filter and cut the entire top out of my airbox! I run +3 in the rear with the generic Dynojet fuel map for the Two Brothers cans and aftermarket air filter. The airbox mod really made things happen. The bike hauls buns, pulls the front wheel in 1st and 2nd no problem and gets anywhere from 32 to 40 mpg.
There's my 2 cents... do it, you'll be real glad you did!

i would go with the power commander 3 & k&n filter & airbox mod. very simple operation. the pc3 is plug & play & the maps r easy to download.
