hey all. I just bought a 2003 Z1000 off of craigslist for $500. Its in pretty good condition with 19xxx miles. The only problems are that it needs an engine and and a fuel tank. The po said he just changed oil and went for a ride and a few minutes later it went boom. So needless to say I'm in the market for a good used engine. I'm looking forward to learning from all of you.

Congrats on the new 'project bike'.

You should definitely start a build thread on it and post your progress as you begin to peice it together. Would make for a good read. Anyway, I'm sure you'll find the parts that you are searching for soon enough. A lot of times I know you see used engines on Ebay, but it's kind of risky buying something like that without knowing the history for obvious reasons, but herhaps you could find one from somebody parting theirs out on one of the forums.
