2012 z1000 - Windshield base cover peeled-off

Hi bross.. need your suggestion to fix my windshield's base cover... done it few times using double-sided tape but only last for few long distance rides... its seems like double sided is not a solution for me as it would peeled-off after certain period of time... any permanent solution to fix this? .. TQ

Can you take a picture of the issue?

That's normal. It is a separate piece from the housing. I think mine sticks up a little farther.

Normal indeed. Mine has wobbled there for 36,000 miles. It's fine.

That part fits into a recessed notch on the piece below it. It may have wiggled out due to vibration, excessive 100+ mph wind gusts etc..!

I noticed it on mine a while ago after I removed the headlight bucket. The only way I could get it back in was to take it apart again. Not a biggie -or just roll with it as it is.

Mine I've took it apart and saw the notch already broken.. so i put some double-sided tape on it and hoping that it is fits and not wiggle out.. unfortunately that not working.. after one short ride, the tape peeled off..

am still looking for the right solution for it.
