Hello all,
Im about to install two slip on exhausts and i want to take out the two cats.My question is: will be a problem in my bike cause i will have a stock air filter and no ecu flash?( i don't care about the performance, i only care if the bike will have a problem).

Thank you.

Shouldn't be a problem, but you'll pick up about 15 hp with an Ivan's tune, and you'll likely reduce backfires.

This thread should be relevant: https://www.z1000forum.com/forum/z1000-performance/121753-2012-z1000-y-pipe-dyno-results.html

Additionally, if you "don't care about performance," why remove the cats?
Cause I saw a z1000 like mine with only slip ons and it may sound better when revving but when on road it doesnt sound at all, cats reduce the sound(?) , and I saw a video on you tube, a guy with stock exhausts just removed the cats and the moto sound already louder/better than only having slip ons. Isn't this true ? 😕
