Akrapovic Headers and SC Project

Hey, i'm looking to get a 2019 Z1000 in a couple of months, just waiting for the weather to clear up a bit. I defiantly want to de-cat it and have some SC Project cans on it.

However, I contact SC Project cans to see if they will fit the Akrapovic headers, they said they cans will fit anything that the OEM exhaust will fit.

Unfortunately I also contacted Akrapovic and asked if the OEM Exhaust will fit on their headers, it will not, their headers have a wider tube at the end (Not sure what this part is called).

Does anyone know of an adaptor I could possibly get to slip into the Akrapovic so that the smaller SC Project cans will fit? Or does anyone know the dimensions of the connecting pipe?

I have exactly the same setup on my 2017 R edition. SC-Project is Conical [see them here].
Short answer, they don't fit! I fitted with making 4 cuts in slip-ons and now they are fine with absolutely no leak.
SC-Project Slip-ons have larger diameter than stock (and Akrapovic which is 45mm if i am not mistaking). Slip-ons supposed to go inside the headers. But SC-Project has 49.5mm inner diameter (52mm outer) and too thick! Instead, Akra header goes inside the slip-on! I've made 2 cm long cuts every 90 degrees cuts with angle grinder. With Amazon clamps they fit perfectly no leak and don't slip out!

I have a similar setup but approached it the same way. I have the Akra headers & SP Engineering pipes. I just cut two slits in the pipes off the exhaust and got a c-clamp to cinch everything together. No leaks & sound amazing.

Ive got arrow headers with a single exit. I had an extra lug welded at the back to suspend the pipe (the front section) the resulting exit pipe is 60mm. Anything with a 60mm exit will fit my bike - i dont need the lug under the rear footpeg. The springs from the tailpipe that hook onto the exit pipe from the headers means that i can fit literally any pipe from any litre bike....easy....widens the choice makes it alot cheaper. Ive had pipes from various different litre bikes on mine and have settled with a shortened akra.

I've answered a few posts up https://www.z1000forum.com/forum/2209660-post3.html

If you are technical kind of person with some extra minutes of work you can get them fitted.
