V&H Urban Brawlers without decel popping?

Hi.

As title says I am wondering if anybody has managed to run with the V&H Urban brawlers without excessive decel popping?

The reason I bought the Z1000 (14) was manily because I was so sick of the popping and uneven pull from my old carburated zx9r.

I really like the look with the brawlers (matte black), but if it becomes a "popcorn maker" Im not even considering it.

Some like the popping, personally I hate it. I want my bike to sound like its been perfectly tund by professionals.

I already have the FCE & KLEEN AIR mod done, so I know this helps. Im also getting the DB-inserts if Im buying.

Any comments from brawler owners out there?

Thanks

Hi JB84, I've had the brawlers for about a year now with no DB inserts though, they almost always pop on downshifting. Personally the popping doesn't bother me that much, but I've been told by a bike guru that a custom chip and fuel map should take all the popping away and leave you with the raw crisp growl of the brawlers. Let us know how it goes.

The only way to eliminate the popping on downshifting is to install a FCE from Ivan mate. I have spent a lot of time with a dyno tuner to try just using the PCV and you cant-period.
FCE or reflash is the only way...

tru dat @ash_z1000

@JB84 I don't mind the decel noise. It adds to the aggressive look and sound the brawlers supply

If I had the xtra $ I'd go visit Ivan and run the dual Akra's. Until then, the CS Ones are just fine the way they are. ...w/dB inserts and ear plugs

bone stock. sorta.

The popping is the sound of all the "extreme" horsepower bottled up in your engine... to fix it you have to complement it with LED lights, and chrome wheels... then all mechanical problems sort themselves right out! LOL just pulling your leg of course! Probably running a bit lean, you can maybe add a few points of fuel in the 0% throttle column between 1500 - 6k rpm.... or just listen to Ash.. he knows more than me anyway...

As mentioned I already have the IVANS FCE installed (& also blocked the KLEEN AIR). What a smooth throttle response that did!

Have you managed to totally get rid of the decel popping then?

I get that some thinks its hardcore with a lot og noise and banging, but
I really dont want my bike to sound like a totally misfueled "Hardley davidson" with carbs when comming to a stop in public...
