Gear indicator plugs in where on a '16 Z1K?

I'm wondering wear a gear indicator would plug in on '16 Z1K. According to the seller online "there should be an open plug". Any help is appriciated.

There should be a diagnostic plug to the rear left hand side of the battery tray, if memory serves it had 4 wires. Cant see you photos.

This is the only possible place I'm finding. It looks to be some kind of electrical butt connector. Is that it?

From memory it was this one, its just pushed into the foam, you need to remove a blanking plug if this is the diagnostic plug. Thats where mine goes.

Here a picture of where it plugs into and what it looks like. I just installed this indicator last week, you have to pull out that foam piece, its lightly glued down to the bottom so just give it a tug and it will come out. Once you do that, you'll have two wires in your hand and the smaller one is for the gear indicator. It'll have a cap on the end of it that you just remove (obviously)& then plug in the gear indicator.

Which gear indicator are you guys running. I don't want to spend enough money to get the Healtech version. I have found a couple of versions on amazon but they all have different plug styles and I am not sure which one it is by the pictures.

I purchased this one from a recommendation from a forum member - twurz96

Works great for the price.

Hi
New member to the group , I have bought a gear indicator for my z1000 15 plate, when plugged in should it light up straight away ? Or does this only happen when gears selected ?
